Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.

Grant them eternal rest, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Just after the 9/11 tragedy, emails and letters went out to artists and writers from all the major Comic Book Publishing companies asking them to donate their time and talents in homage to the fallen. I did my tribute double-page spread for DC Comics' book, "9-11".

The art as I envisioned it has the Flag of the United States just showing through the debris field, but I gave DC Comics the option of including the flag or not. I was quite flattered to find the art was run on the title page spread. DC Comics' decision to run the art without the flag was based on there being so many flag representations in the book. To this day I can't make up my mind as to which one is more effective, so, here are both. Click on them to see a larger image.

Just this week (mid-May 2002) all the contributing 9/11 Tribute Artists received a request to donate their art to the Library of Congress for archiving in their collection, some pieces going on exhibit in Washington, D.C.
